I do apologize!!!

My dear friends! What a week it has been!

Let’s start with the good-Last Thursday I had a show at The Lounge at The Space at Westbury. This is the new venue in my hometown. There was an amazing turnout, amazing energy and the music was some of the best I’ve done…EVER (I feel like) I’m not sure if it was because of the amazing musicians I had with me, David Rosenthal on guitar, Coleman Bartels on drums, Darell Hunt on Vocals and Chris Berry on Vocals. Here are some photos from the event, shot by Nancy La Lanne.

Before this show, I cracked one of my teeth, a combination of grinding my teeth and a cavity (not having health insurance sucks… anyway) I let it go, hoping that I’d be able to get it pulled the Saturday after the show so that I could also see my brother off for his move to Georgia. Well, my tooth wasn’t having it. I was in the ER on Saturday, with prescriptions and a whole bunch of pain. Monday morning I was scheduled to see the dentist. I went in, the asked me to come back that afternoon to have it removed. Before I left, they noticed a rash. Apparently I was allergic to the antibiotics I was taking for my infection. Oh, did I mention that the tooth was infected along with my cheek and jaw? Yeah… no fun. Then I found out they gave me double the amount of prescription that I needed. So, I go home, try and take some medicine, and before I look, my brother’s dog is eating my 600 mg Ibuprofen…. Off to the Vet hospital we go. Thousands of dollars on a credit card later, the dog is home, I am home. I must say, there was a lot of negativity in these past days. I still don’t know how my bills are going to get paid, but today, for some reason (praying and listening to amazing friends) I feel better.

With all of this happening, I’ve realized several things:

1. I can’t do it alone, I’ve just got to be better at picking the right people to help me.

2. I need to treat myself the way I treat other people. I am my own Honey.

3. Health comes first (I signed up for Medicare in Ohio)

4. Though it’s hard to see God in all the trials, He carries you through things to strengthen you for HIS plan, not yours.

Thanks guys for being patient with me. I’m finally not dizzy while sitting up. Time to turn up! Sike, Time to write papers!
