It’s not only about gentrification. But we are much more comfortable around those we are familiar with. How then do we grow as humans? This is where communities play an important role. Continue reading
I haven’t posted in a little bit. Things in this world are changing. More and more, we are seeing the true colors of the people we share this world with. I’ve always been an advocate of peace, love and hope. I’ve been going deeper into my studies with God, deeper in my studies of self and working out ways to use my gifts for the greater good of the world. I want a mentor, a manager. I want a team that will take me where I want to go. Speak and workshop in places that need to be changed. Start from the ground up. There are dreams that are within me, and I believe God has blessed me with what it takes to make a change. I believe he has done that with all of us, but some of us are not walking in our destiny.
I want you all to hear me.
I love you.
I am a complicated melody (which is why that is tattooed on my back) I am not just how I look, I am not just my families lineage. I am not just my studies. I am the sum of all of that and more. My confidence in myself has grown.
I’d like to share something that I just posted on facebook.
You can comment and add and discuss. No slandering of character or defiling of the humans that we share our air with please.
“My people, don’t let the fact that you don’t see other people fighting, or being mad about #Ferguson the way you are divide you from what we need to do. We need to stick together and try and help. Our presence and gifts in this world make a difference. Don’t get caught up in dividing ourselves, get caught up in loving and creating a plan and sticking to that plan. We are multi-faceted people with talents and destinies beyond our wildest dreams. Be the love and the peace that you wish to see. Then do something about what hurts you. This is not a time to argue, this is a time to be about CHANGE. #changeisgonnacome #sticktogether #community#educate #donotpacify And love doesn’t mean sit back and pat someone on the back. Love doesn’t mean letting people walk over your beliefs. Love means doing it out of a selfless wish and desire to make our world a better place for all. Do not let the oppressed become the oppressor. Let us not speak of oppression again. That is the goal.”
